Is Free Antivirus Software Trustable?

Frugal PC users often search for free antivirus software and often selecting a genuine one is daunting affair for them. However, free security software varies similarly as much as paid security software in their quality but they don’t offer every feature as the paid security applications do. In general, the main drawback in any free security application is the absence of frequent malware signature updates.

Most of the free security programs daily update their malware signature database only once.  Due to this drawback some brand new malicious programs or viruses may not be detected. The free security software such as Microsoft Security Essentials checks suspicious samples having unmatched signatures by comparing with latest Microsoft’s online signatures. Similarly, another example is Panda Cloud Antivirus that checks suspicious signatures against Panda’s servers and always uses latest signatures by connecting online. So, by just having Internet connection, genuine security is available.

Another drawback with free software is that they have less scanning options compared to paid software. Even though both of the versions are developed by same software company, the free version misses some scanning options offered in paid version. For instance, Avira’s antivirus paid program scans the http traffic for various web-borne malware programs, whereas the free version AntiVir Personal developed by same company can’t do it. Similarly, AVG’s paid security software attaches to IM programs to provide additional security, while its free version AVG 8.5 doesn’t have this feature.

Finally, free antivirus software offer stuff that users don’t need and is intrusive too. Some of the unwanted features include installing search toolbars or social networking browsers, Ads to buy paid software and pop-up ads displaying some offers.Though some of these drawbacks are intrusive, selecting any free antivirus software can be good option as it gives decent security in no cost. But if you're concerned about getting more features without the unwanted stuff  that normally comes with free antivirus software, then opt for paid antivirus program. Most of the well-known antivirus software's from AVG, Avira, Norton and more can be bought for a reasonable price.

Microsoft Touch Mouse

With the growing popularity of touch-based technology the computer accessories and peripherals market has also seen advancements, such as this latest Microsoft Mouse. Major factors like technology, compatibility and comfort are considered for designing any computer accessory or peripherals now-a-days. And, Microsoft has researched a lot and came out with this new wireless touch mouse that is exclusively designed for Windows 7. So, the question of its specialty arises, when compared with similar Microsoft Wireless mouse, touch mice or other previous Microsoft touch mouse models. The reference of Apple’s Magic mouse and Microsoft Arc mice is not to be overlooked. As, the physical appearance of Microsoft touch mouse reminds us of Apple magic and Microsoft Arc, it is difficult to compare the design and style. However, it does not come into the category of sleekest Wireless touch mouse in the market, due to its heavy and large body.

Physical appearance:

The Microsoft Touch mouse is though quiet bulky it is easy to operate due to the touch sensitive interface. In addition to that, a mechanical button in there to distinguish between right and left mouse clicks. Hence, users can easily use the touch sensitive feature, with both hands and can switch from right to left button easily. The optical sensor is present at the bottom similar to other latest touch mouse models, with battery slot that can accommodate two AA batteries and pocket to hold the USB dongle.

Almost any latest wireless touch mouse brands work on any operating system, but this Microsoft mouse acts as standard mouse on any operating system and the touch feature works only on Window 7. The multi-touch feature allows sideway finger scroll, flicks, panning, swipes and other gestures very easily, for both hand users. To navigate in an application using this multi-touch mouse the one-finger gesture is helpful, where index finger can be used for scrolling and swipe across document. The thumb helps in navigating forward and backward for browsing history. For positioning any opened application window in the Window 7, maximizing or minimizing the window and to enable the snap feature, the two-finger gesture is helpful. The three-finger swiping feature is useful in navigating among all currently opened applications.

This latest Microsoft touch mouse works on Blue Track technology, which gives easy access to use on any type of surface including wooden, glass and metal. Regarding the USB connector, it is quiet easy to fix and remove due to its small size. The nano size Micro-USB receiver (2.4 GHz) is also provided for motion tracking, which works on standard optical sensors. Users need not have to struggle a lot to setting up this Touch mouse for Window7 as it is simple to install. Once the USB connector is plugged in the Window 7 operating system automatically identifies it but to enable the touch features, the user has to install Microsoft mouse drivers. The touch mouse drivers can be downloaded from the Microsoft Website, which contains Microsoft Mouse software and executables. Once installation is done, Microsoft mouse support tutorial provides information on different touch gestures. User can understand the types of finger gestures and other simple Touch mouse techniques to handle it easily.

Microsoft Touch Mouse Review :

The package of Microsoft Touch Mouse needs some alteration when compared to Microsoft Arc mouse or Apple’s Touch Magic as it is little bit heavy. However, it is fair in simplicity when compared to other latest wireless touch mouse brands in market. When coming to performance it is quite satisfactory due to its Blue Track laser sensors, which allows in operating on any surface accurately. For gamers the mouse can become an additive touch mouse, if all the gestures are thoroughly identified.  The ambidextrous feature is one good feature, which makes it different in both Wireless touch mouse and Microsoft mouse category. The compatibility on different OS could have been added as this is Touch mouse for Window7. The price is expensive for people who want to operate on different operating system. This reason may even make them choose some cheap wireless touch mouse, having fewer features but compatible on different OS.  However, for people who are looking for multi-touch mouse with latest technology and easy in installation, this can be good choice.

The Microsoft Touch Mouse price in India may be bit expensive, so know the price in online stores which may be slightly cheap.
